Receiving International Payments from India
If you work with international clients, your payment options are:
- Wise (formerly TransferWise): Local bank accounts in USD, GBP, EUR. No conversion fee on receiving. Best for freelancers with regular international income.
- Payoneer: Popular on Upwork/Fiverr. Annual fee ₹3,500. Good for marketplace withdrawals.
- PayPal: High conversion fees (4–5%). Avoid unless client insists. Freeze risk on large amounts.
- SWIFT wire transfer: Free to receive (bank charges vary ₹500–₹1,500). Get a FIRA (Foreign Inward Remittance Advice) from your bank — needed for GST zero-rating proof.
